Leonardo da Vinci stated that "la pittura è mentale" or "cosa mentale." Meaning that any artistic form would first of all originate in the mind of the person who conceives the work.
It would therefore be a materialisation of the artist's thought transcribed in its complexity and fullness.
I like this idea.
This drawing was created precisely while i was thinking about this notion.
Perhaps this is the reason why we can see through the face of this multiple character?
